The Friuli Venezia Giulia Psychology Festival will return in February 2026 for its sixth edition. This series of outreach events partnered by the University aims to disseminate and promote psychology, in order to break down stereotypes about this discipline. The theme of the upcoming edition is ‘Borderline Psychologies’, an excursus between the past and the present that focuses on the studies and research of six different authors who have lived and worked in a borderline context, many of them in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region: Gaetano Kanizsa, Giovanni Bruno Vicario, Anton Trstenjak, Edoardo Weiss, Paolo Bozzi, and Alberto Argenton. The events will be held between February and March 2026 in Trieste, Gorizia, Gradisca d'Isonzo, Cormons, Palmanova, and Tavagnacco.

In anticipation of the events, the steering committee of Psicoattività, the association promoting the Festival, has announced the call for applications for the Fourth Prize for Innovative Research in Psychology, dedicated to young psychologists and researchers under the age of 36. Registration is open until 1 February 2026 at www.psicoattivita.it.

The competition rewards published research papers or master's or doctoral theses that deal with innovative topics in the field of psychology and have used an empirical approach. The works must have been published or discussed between 1 September 2024 and 1 February 2026.

The aim of the competition is to enhance the culture of psychology in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and promote scientific initiatives aimed at developing and disseminating psychology in its various forms and fields of application, in order to improve people's wellbeing and quality of life.

The competition is open to young graduates or researchers under the age of 36 who have obtained a Master's degree or a PhD in Psychology. Three cash prizes - €600, €300 and €150 - will be awarded during the award ceremony at one of the events of the sixth Psychology Festival.
