All students enrolled in the academic year 2024-2025 at the University of Trieste must complete two surveys between 18th August and 20th September via the online student academic services (Esse3):

  • The first survey concerns students’ overall study experience during the academic year 2024-2025. The aim is to monitor their level of satisfaction with the organisation of their degree programme, timetables, classrooms, laboratories and other study spaces, the administrative services offered by the University and its departments, and the additional services offered by ARDIS, CUS and the local public transport group.

  • The second survey involves a questionnaire for each exam taken during the academic year 2024-2025, in order to assess how the exams were conducted and whether they were consistent with the consistent with the material studied during the course.

Students must complete all the questionnaires, which are strictly anonymous in order to proceed with any other Esse3 operations.

These surveys are among the main auditing tools for the University, which has been carrying out a self-assessment process for some time, with the aim of analysing its ability to respond to the needs of its various stakeholders, first and foremost its students.

This year, thanks to its participation in the ‘Good Practice 2024-2025’ project, coordinated by the Politecnico di Milano, in April, UniTS carried out a ‘Survey on the satisfaction with the administrative and support services offered by the University’, with the aim of benchmarking UniTS against more than 50 other Italian universities participating in the project, while also identifying possible good practices.

The University Quality Assurance Authority decided to retain the survey on the overall experience of the academic year and on exams – albeit a simplified and shorter version – alongside this new project. The survey was shared with the Student Council and the Evaluation Unit considers it a particular strength within the University of Trieste's Quality Assurance System.
