On 5 September 2025, the regional conference of the Italian Society of Cardiology will take place in Trieste, at the “Rita Levi Montalcini” Aula Magna of the Cattinara Hospital. The event is organised under the patronage of the University of Trieste, the University of Padua, and the Giuliano Isontina University Health Authority (ASUGI).

Among the Scientific Coordinators are Marco Merlo, Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Trieste and Head of the Outpatient Clinics of the Cardiology Unit (SC Cardiologia) at ASUGI, and Antonio De Luca, specialist in cardiovascular diseases, trained at the University of Trieste and currently cardiologist at ASUGI.

The conference offers an important opportunity for training and professional exchange among experts in the cardiovascular field, with particular focus on the evolution of interventional techniques in the treatment of cardiomyopathies and heart failure. The programme is structured into three sessions, respectively dedicated to aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, and tricuspid regurgitation, alternating expert lectures with the presentation and discussion of clinical cases.

The event highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and close cooperation among different healthcare specialists – including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pathologists, and radiologists – to promote a care model that is increasingly integrated and patient-centred.

The conference is accredited for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and awards 7 CME credits. It is limited to 100 participants, including physicians and nurses. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory through the Key Congressi online platform.
