On Monday 28 April 2025, at 3.00 p.m., a new Seminar entitled ‘Actuaries and strategic planning: a long story with a happy ending’ will be held at the Department of Economics, Business, Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Trieste, as part of the initiative ‘Knowing the industry: actuarial students meet actuaries’.

The speaker will be dr. Salvatore Colotti, Head of Group Strategic Planning & Control, Assicurazioni Generali SpA.

The professionalism and preparation of an actuary over the years has been increasingly used, and my own personal development over a working life spent at Generali is an empirical demonstration of this. The introduction of Solvency II first, and in recent years the introduction of IFRS17, has brought the demand for actuarial skills to the planning phase of an insurance group's results as well.
