On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April 2025, the concluding event of the Quadrato Culturale T.E.T.R.I.S.S. (Texts And Translations: Research + Invention of Signal Systems) will take place at the Rogers Station.

"Quadrato Culturale T.E.T.R.I.S.S." is an IPS-TM Third Mission project of the Department of Legal, Language, Interpretation and Translation Sciences (IUSLIT) of the University of Trieste, funded by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia - Creativity 2023 Notice.

On the occasion of the sixty-fourth anniversary of the first mission of a man into space, carried out by Ju.A. Gagarin on 12 April 1961, the QC TETRISS presents itself and its ©Carte Culturale POECHALI!, produced in collaboration with Modiano Industrie Carte da Gioco e Affini S.p.A.

The Cultural Square T.E.T.R.I.S. (as opposed to narrow ‘Circles’) is an interdisciplinary Creative Laboratory animated by students of all years of Russian Language and Translation courses led by undergraduates, recent graduates and doctoral students of the Section of Studies in Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators at the University of Trieste. Its acronym is a deliberate homage to the world's most famous video game, an example of overcoming political and ideological barriers in the name of the universality of knowledge. Its activity aims at the creation of innovative ways of sharing knowledge: the specific objective is the invention of original vehicles for the dissemination of texts in translation; the general objective is the formulation of an Extended Model of Translation as a paradigm of contemporary knowledge.
Launched on 6 June 2023, the Project is approaching its official closure at the end of June 2025. On the occasion of the International Day of Cosmonautics, QC TETRISS thus retraces the milestones of its intercultural journey, opening the doors of its scientific-artistic laboratories: between interlingual, inter-semiotic, interdisciplinary and inter-systemic translations.
