20 March 2025 , 2:30 - 5:30 pm Testo evento On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the University of Trieste will host the workshop “Blue Innovation for a Sustainable Marine Economy”, organized by the GEP Lab of the Department of Economic, Business, Mathematical, and Statistical Sciences (DEAMS). The event will begin at 2:30 PM in Room 4_B, Building D (fourth floor) of the Piazzale Europa Campus.The workshop is organized in collaboration with the Italian Association of Naval Technology - ATENA Sardegna and as part of the framework research agreement between DEAMS (University of Trieste) and DICAAR (University of Cagliari). It is also part of the iNEST Project - Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem, which promotes an interconnected innovation ecosystem in Northeastern Italy.The discussion will focus on the latest digital innovations applied to the management and sustainable development of port infrastructures. Special attention will be given to the iNEST project “Digital Twin and Business Intelligence for the Advanced Digitalization of Port Processes in the Port of Trieste”, aimed at enhancing efficiency and sustainability through digital twins and advanced data analysis systems.A key moment of the workshop will be the seminar on “The Digital Ecosystem in Marinas Between Marine Sustainability and Integrated Territorial Development”, featuring Prof. Silvia Battino from the University of Sassari. The discussion will explore the opportunities offered by digitalization for the sustainable management of marinas and the enhancement of coastal areas.Starting at 4:00 PM, the program includes a debate and a focus group on the perspectives of digital twins and innovation in the marine economy.This study day represents a significant opportunity to delve into the potential of digital innovation and business intelligence for the sustainable development of the maritime and port sector, fostering dialogue with industry experts.The workshop will also be available remotely via Microsoft Teams at the link: http://bit.ly/4ikiGpD.
