The International Mobility Office has published the call for applications for the Bovec Summer School 2025.

The Summer School in Bovec, organised by the University of Klagenfurt in cooperation with the University of Trieste and other universities in the Alpe Adria area, will take place from 13 to 27 July 2025.

The deadline for applications is 3 April 2025 h.12:00 (Italian time).

The Bovec Summer Courses, also known as Bovec Summer School or Bovec Poletna Šola, take place in the small Alpine village of Bovec (Plezzo in Italian; Flitsch in German) in the upper Soča Valley in Slovenia, close to the Italian and Austrian borders.

The Summer School, organised by the University of Klagenfurt in cooperation with the Universities of Trieste, Udine, Ljubljana, Koper, Rijeka and Osijek, aims to strengthen cooperation between neighbouring regions by promoting mutual acquaintance among students of the universities of the Alps-Adriatic multinational area.

The Summer School is based on the tandem principle, where participating students collaborate in language learning in a bilateral language exchange in which each participant helps the other to improve in the language they are learning.

From year to year, different cultural, social and historical topics are covered, with a multicultural and multilingual approach. The courses include actual lectures, conferences, seminars, workshops and field trips and are taught in Italian, Slovenian, German, Croatian and Friulian.
The study places provided cover the costs of board, lodging and participation in the courses. The Summer School lasts two weeks and entitles the holder to 3 CFU credits.
