The public consultation on the proposed changes to the University's Code of Ethics and Conduct is open from today until 20 January 2025.

The procedure for updating the Code of Ethics became necessary in light of the regulatory changes made to the National Code of Civil Servants by Presidential Decree no. 81 of 13 June 2023 and mainly involved the following areas:

- Comprehensive revision of ethical standards;

- Language revision with a view to overcoming gender stereotypes;

- Abolition of the Ethics Commission and consequent amendment of the regulation of aspects relating to the investigation of ethical violations.

- Introduction of a more detailed discipline on the use of information technology and the use of social media and discipline on artificial intelligence;

The text was submitted for the preliminary approval of the Academic Senate and the Board of Directors at their October meetings, and for the mandatory opinion of the University Evaluation Committee and the Student Council.

The public consultation that opens today, addressed to the entire university community and its stakeholders, is intended to make each component a participant and protagonist in the drafting of this important document, which sets out the value guidelines that must inspire everyone and the conduct that must follow.
