On Tuesday 12th November, from 17:00 to 19:00, in Room A, Building F, the Department of Physics will host a conference entitled ‘A crowding problem: space debris.’

The event, born from a collaboration between GAUT - Gruppo Astrofili Universitario di Trieste (Trieste University Astrophile Group) and ASTREO, the newborn student team dealing with aerospace-related development and research, will allow the theme of space debris to be explored and deepened through four talks of half an hour each.

Programme

  • 17:00-17:30: introduction to space debris and presentation of the ASTREO association

Speech by Francesco Sulli and Giuseppe Basile, ASTREO students

  • 17:30-18:00: space debris and orbiting telescopes

Speech by Claire Tonsa, GAUT student

  • 18:00-18:30: how a CubeSat is made

Speech by Prof. Stefano Seriani (Department of Engineering and Architecture)

  • 18:30-19:00: CubeSat applications for astrophysics

Speech by Prof. Anna Gregorio (Department of Physics)

The conference, open to all and with free admission, can also be followed remotely via the appropriate link published on the social media profiles of the two associations.
