The selection procedure is open for the awarding of a prize in memory of the journalist Giovanni Cernoia, an esteemed professional from the Trieste Municipality Press Office, who died prematurely in January 2024.

The prize, amounting to one thousand euros gross, is ideally aimed at promoting cancer prevention.

The competition is open to those who: 

• have written and discussed at the University of Trieste a master's degree thesis in Medicine and Surgery or a specialisation degree thesis in the Medical or Health Area in the field of oncological research, with particular regard to haematology;
• have written and discussed a master's degree thesis in Science Communication at SISSA on the topic of Oncological Prevention Communication;
• are students or former students at the University of Trieste and/or at SISSA and have developed a project for the production of a video or blog on Oncological Prevention.
