On Monday, April 8, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., the event "AI Talks: popularizing science on artificial intelligence for the general public" will be held at Hangar Teatri , Via Luigi Pecenco 10, Trieste.
 

The initiative is organized by the Artificial Intelligence Student Society AI2S in collaboration with the University of Trieste.

AI Talks stems from AI2S 's desire to carry out scientific popularization to inform and introduce to the general public what exactly artificial intelligence (AI) is, bringing concrete examples of some of its many applications and overcome stereotypes present among the lay public.
 

Speakers of the evening will be Marco Zullich from the University of Groningen and Marta Infantino from the University of Trieste.

PROGRAMME:

"Limitations of modern AI and guidelines for reliable AI"

Marco Zullich is a lecturer in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where he holds the chair of the courses Object Oriented Programming for Al, Unsupervised Deep Learning, and Trustworthy \ & Explainable Al. In his research he works on uncertainty quantification in neural networks and miniaturization of machine learning models.

"AI Act! What's changing in Europe (and beyond)"

Marta Infantino is Associate Professor of Comparative Private Law at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Trieste. Her research is developed in the areas of comparative contract law, comparative civil law, human rights and global indicators.
