Issue 27 (2023) of the magazine QuaderniCIRD is now online. Journal of the Interdepartmental Center for Educational Research of the University of Trieste / Rivista del Centro Interdipartimentale per la Ricerca Didattica dell’Università di Trieste, published by EUT - Trieste University Press.

In 2021 the Italian Government published its Strategic Programme for Artificial Intelligence 2022-2024, which was edited by the Ministry of University and Research, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition. With this publication, the Italian Government intends to promote the development of an impressive 'national research ecosystem' of excellence to align with a broader European system, primarily dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and its many applications in various fields, with the intention of fostering innovation in the economic and social fabric of the country.

The ambitious and enthusiastic document, which outlines objectives, priority sectors and areas of intervention, is certainly destined to cause discussion and is undoubtedly stimulating interest and lively debate in the scientific community and the multifaceted universe of stakeholders. Our journal has also decided to take up the challenge, and therefore this issue offers two contributions dedicated to the same number of priority areas of the application of Artificial Intelligence, namely health and wellbeing, with a substantial contribution published in the first part, and the educational system, with a further contribution that appears in the 'Mathematics and...' dossier.
