LECTURE DESCRIPTION: The mainstream availability of generative artificial intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges for writers. This interactive presentation examines the mechanisms and ideologies that underpin these AI tools to illuminate how they are likely to impact the future of writing, especially in universities.

Collin Bjork is Senior Lecturer in English and Media Studies at Massey University in Aotearoa New Zealand. He is currently a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Collin is researching AI and writing, and he’s working on a book about rhetoric and podcasting.
